Transport from Airport to City

Our recommendations for transfer from the airport to the city center

  • Taxi
This transportation option is the fastest and easiest. Our recommendation is to find a taxi information desk in the arrival area, where you can take a voucher with a guaranteed price of a ride depending on your desired destination (hotel location). This ride is performed by reliable taxi companies. Before the ride, we strongly recommend to you check with the driver whether he drives according to the price on the voucher. The approximate price of a taxi to the city center is about 30 euros, and the travel time is about 20 minutes. For more information about taxi companies, see the Useful info page. However, you should still be careful, because of taxi scams and drivers who charge significantly more expensive rides. Regular taxi drivers can be recognized by the TX mark on their license plates.
  • Minibus A1
Mini buses are available to go and come back to Belgrade Airport from Slavija Square. Travel time is about 30 minutes.
  • Private car transfer
If you want private transportation to and from Belgrade Airport, you can book a transfer to your preferred destination (hotel location). Several companies offer individual or group transfers either by car, minibus or bus. For this service, we can recommend the agency International Voyager, website www.voyagerrentacar.com and email for reservation requests This email address is being protected from spambots. Ongoing works on airport expansion and reconstruction of access roads and parking lots affect traffic and passenger flow, and all flow changes are visibly marked. Please find more information relevant to the implemented changes here.

by Train

Belgrade has been a part of the European railway network since 1885, when it was included on the famous Orient Express route. Nowadays, Belgrade lies at the intersection of main European railway lines E-70 and E-85. Passenger services are provided by state-owned operator Srbija voz. More about timetable and train services could be found on the Srbija Voz website. The ongoing overall modernization of Serbian railway network including the overhaul of the Serbian part on the line Belgrade – Budapest, as well as the Covid 19 pandemic, influence that many international trains have been suspended or canceled in timetables for last two years. Due to all these reasons, we recommend participants to check other traveling options to Belgrade.

Train trip to Belgrade = train ride to Budapest + bus transfer to Belgrade

For those who look for a train trip to Belgrade, we recommend planning a train ride to Budapest and transferring to Belgrade by bus. Besides regular Belgrade - Budapest - Belgrade bus lines, there are several agencies that offer individual or group shuttle transport on a ’’door to door’’ basis (e.g. Gea Tours Belgrade - https://geatours.rs/en ).

by Car

For those from Region traveling by own car could be a preferred option. The main European routes E-70 and E-75 intersect in Belgrade. Both routes almost entirely go as highways. Foreign drivers in Serbia are required to have a national driver’s license, traffic permit and an insurance policy. Useful information, such as conditions on state roads and waiting on toll stations could be found on the Roads of Serbia website.

Local Public Transport

Belgrade has an extensive public transport network with about 130 lines which consists of buses, trams, trolleybuses and BG trains operated by the city-owned and several private companies. Sometimes you’ll need to change several types of public transportation to arrive at a particular destination in Belgrade, but it will not be a problem as the public transport system is fully integrated which makes tickets transferable between companies and vehicle types.

The ticket system is called BusPlus and it is consisted of several public transportation zones and has various types of tickets. Basic ticket could be purchased at one of 2000 kiosks valid for riding 90 min on all lines (for 1st or 2nd public transportation zone). Additional suitable options are to buy daily time cards for multiple rides valid for 1, 3 or 5 days. A passenger who does not have a ticket must enter at the first door, prepare the exact amount and buy a ticket from the driver for one ride. Also, there are minibus express lines which offer more expensive, but quite comfortable and faster transportation. Detailed information about tickets and timetables could be found at the website of City Transport Company ''Beograd'' (GSP). Also you can use the most of well known transit navigation apps to obtain local transit and mobility options.

If you will have your own car, it is good to know that driving and parking car in Belgrade city center is not an easy task. For more information about public parking visit Belgrade Parking Service website.
